I hate companys that pay the minimum wage with an attitude of "that's just what you're entitled to" and never consider what you are actually worth to them. I hate the way they want you to be job focused and loyal for the privelege of getting paid the same minimum crap that somebody 2 minutes in the job gets. I hate the way so many employers just get away with treating humans like livestock. I hate the thought they get rich while we scrape by. I hate the fact this is accepted and viewed as normal in society. I hate the FACT that so many people who read this will agree with me. I hate hearing constantly about how much cheaper rent in Portland Oregon is than in New York City. It's like crowing about how much cheaper Ramen noodles are than Kobe beef.

Actually it's not even true that it's cheaper to live here. Wages in Portland are astronomically lower. Rent here represents a much larger percentage of total income and prices are steadily climbing. Portland has one of the worst job markets and highest cost of living indexes in the country.

All for the priveledge of living in a city where all the stores close down by 7pm on weekends. I don't know why people can't figure this out. I hate all the stupid people flocking here who don't understand how money works. Oct 29 12:39 PM MST
