I hate that food servers just EXPECT to be tipped 20% no matter how good or bad of a job they do. I've been a food server for many years at several different restaurants too - and it only makes me expect MORE of my server when I go out to eat.

Seriously food servers, especially in places like California that already make minimum wage on top of tips, get over yourselves. 15% is normal. 20% is a stinkin good job.

An I HATE that some people think standard tipping should be 20%. It wasn't that long ago that it was 10%, so just be lucky you even get 15%. Jan 11 1:23 PM MST

I hate how incompetent, rude waitstaff EXPECTS to be tipped a lot. I do tip generously because of my nature, but I think it is incredibly arrogant to presume that you deserve something without working for it. Go back to the reason tipping was started- as a reward for good service. If you are too haughty to serve others, why are you in the service industry? I know that waiters and stuff need money, but you have to work to get it. That's life. Deal. Sep 11 1:26 PM MST
