link hereI hate southern accents. Whenever I hear them I get the impression of a very unsophisticated, uncivilized, and possibly racist person. I encourage anyone who has one to do whatever it takes to get rid of it. Some speech therapy? I had to do speech therapy when I was in elementary school. Southern accents are rediculous because it's American english, but it sounds like you don't really speak it. People who learn English as a second language have an excuse. So do people who have English or British accents. A southern accent has no excuse. I can't stand country music most of the time unless the singer has a slight accent or they have poppy music. Country music for the most part is sad and makes me feel like the person is racist/incestual/nationalist and everything else associated with the redneck/hick/hillbilly lifestyle. I don't want to listen to music about drinking to solve problems being sung by some drunk, smoking redneck hillbilly who waves a rebel flag, hates all minority groups and engages in sexual endeavors with their mothers, sisters, and possibly dogs. link hereI hate people who don't know the true meaning of a redneck. A redneck isn't just some poor, dumb, guy/girl living in the South. The term is one of true American pride. Back in the 1930's and 40's, the term came about because of a certain group of people. They were rural laborers who grew the corn and cotton and cut the wood to feed, clothe and grow our country. On the weekends, they went to town to buy the few things they didn't grow or make. They were honest, hard working and the backbone of the country.
They came into town wearing a worn pair of boots, and a clean pair of work clothes. Their necks were sunburned because they toiled in the hell hot Southern sun. Their life was one based on working hard and providing for their families.
People today don't understand the difference between a redneck and white trash. The wife-beater, beer swilling image isn't the one of a redneck. People like that aren't limited to the South, they're all over our country.
So, before you state you hate toward rednecks, take the time to understand what a redneck really means. Nov 2 3:57 PM MST
link hereI hate how people hate on rednecks. I think rednecks are sexy. Some of them really know what they're doing and just because they have different hobbies, different views, or different pronunciations of words, that doesn't give people the right the hate on them!! Even though it seems like I'm standing up for "my kind" (I'm Texan), I truly think we all have our ways of life!! GEESH!! Not all rednecks go out partying, listening to countr-ay music, and driving trucks. STOP WITH THE HATE! link hereI hate rednecks, I hate rednecks more than imaginable. They walk around in filthy cockroach stained wife-beaters in their filthy dollar store cowboys hats and think it's ok to discriminate because they're insecure about the size of their penis or the woman they keep locked at home while her seventeen children feed off of her saggy demestically abused tits. link hereI hate Rednecks! They think that just because I live in the south I want to date them. They drive big trucks, they smell funny, they have stupid rules, they're racist, and they are just stupid. I'm sorry but those are things that I run away from when it comes to dating guys. Rednecks can take their stupid rebel flag and shove it up their ass! O yea....and News Flash...THE YANKEES WON! Get over it and move the hell on. Sep 26 4:59 AM MST
link herei hate it when rednecks or hicks wear the ole "rebel" flag from a little less than 150 years ago (most likely on a ratty, filthy t-shirt/wifebeater and/or a gigantic, tacky belt buckle and/or a bandana for their disgusting mullets) or display it (probably on a bumper sticker on their old red Ford pickup truck, right next to the Bush/Cheney '04 one) and then claim "it's not hate, it's heritage (as if it were something like grits or sweet tea)!" yeah, dehumanizing people based on some trivial thing like skin color is REALLY heritage! great, great. that's something the South should be truly proud of. and then they turn around and say people who burn flags to make a political statement are "unpatriotic", because you know, having the confederate flag is totally supporting the US.
