I hate that I hate black people. I mean, I'm smart enough to know that there's nothing inherently wrong with them, but for some reason they bug me deeply. I never let it show, and I'll never act on it, since I know it's wrong, but it's something instinctive - I can't help it. I have to go out of my way to avoid letting it affect my normal life around black people. They just revolt me, and I hate that. Am I racist if I never actually discriminate, just hate them inside? I hate how my parents don’t think that music can be my career.

That’s what I want to do with my life, and I’ve already considered all of the pros and cons. I know that it will never pay well, especially if I stick to my creative morals. But I’m not doing it for the money either.

Every time I go to a gig, my parents say, “Why are you pouring so much of your time and effort into something that you won’t be doing later in life?” But I’ve already told them that I want to play music forever no matter what the pay is.
