i hate that liking jambands is so uncool. i hate going to a show and it's tiny club full of 40yr old dudes who just got divorced and a couple of dorks in weird hats. the scene used to rule with dreadies, hippie mamas, and tons of people looking to hook up in one way or another. now it's all like, let's wear black and dress like it's 1983 or some shit. tripping balls and dancing in drum circles is so much cooler. worst of all, i hate that i can downplay my roots and don some black. at one point we got along fine with hipsters, like our own separate faction, drawn together by liberal politics and art. now there's just some serious hippie-hating, and i hate that.
