link hereI hate it when people are overly eccentric, have weird habits or have buggaboos about something. I see them in movies and books and they are portrayed as funny odd sort of people, but when you meet one in real life it is a different story.
I had a boss once who had obviously been told when she was a little girl that if somebody asks a question, you do not answer it if the person is not asking you. She had a real thing about it. So, for example, if she walked up to a workmate in earshot of me and said, "Have you seen the Anderson contract?". I could have that contract in front of me on my desk. God help me if I said, "I've got it right here." She would turn to me and say, "I wasn't asking you!"
For God's sake, do you want to know where the contract is or would you rather just go through the whole office asking every single person if they have it? The answer is clearly the second option.
