I hate the way society forces conformity in subtle ways that are virtually impossible to articulate. I go to college, I'm on my own, it's not as if someone is telling me how to think, but when your thoughts are divergent from social expectation you are not openly ostracized, but sort of blurred over and scraped toward the edges of society.

You can't actually appear different because then it's only an egotistical cry for attention.

I also hate how non-conformist ideas such as Straight Edge get turned into conformist, knee-jerk movements. If you want to keep your life simple and pure then don't drink, don't do drugs and don't have sex outside of a relationship, but don't turn it into some hardcore vegan crap, and don't dress a certain way to tell people you are into that lifestyle. People only act like they care about things so that people of the opposite sex will think that they actually have a will and mind of their own and want to have sex with them when nobody believes in anything anymore.
